    In order to solve the problem of going out of Weihai figs, in 2010, under the guidance and leadership of Weihai city, district and town governments, Li Niting, the chairman of Weihai Ziguang Science and Technology Park Co., Ltd. has led the enterprise to devote to the deep development of fig industry. The company has built a temperature-controlled experimental base of more than 10,000 square feet, a standardised fig production workshop of more than 20,000 square feet, developed and listed more than 50 varieties of figs in 13 categories, including fig wine, fig tea, fig jam, fig pulp, fig drinks, etc. The company processes more than 1,000 tonnes of figs every year, and has driven more than 5,000 farmers around to increase their production and income.

    Weihai Ziguang is aware of the need to achieve fig industry upgrading continuous scientific research and practice exploration, improvement to enhance the quality of fruit plants. We corporate with the National Academy of Forestry, Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Academy of Forestry, Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Fruit Tree Research Institute and other 17 scientific research institutes and more than 20 colleges and universities, we also hire the Taishan Professor Sun Lei and 30 experts. In 2021, Weihai Ziguang Fig Breeding and Deep Processing Technology Innovation Centre was officially established. By the end of 2023, Weihai Ziguang Fig Research Base have cultivated more than 63 kinds of figs, and become a leading and world-class fig research and cultivation base in China, providing the foundation for the upgrading of the industry.
